Biography
Igor Kotnik, educated at the School of Design and Painting in Ljubljana, captures the essence of life in dry pastels and vibrant acrylics, enlivened by his Prague roots. His technique combines spontaneous strokes and structured forms, creating interwoven narratives of nature and abstraction that resonate with a child's intuition. Kotnik's art evokes serenity and joy, as each work of art is harmoniously created to the rhythm of classical piano music.His early collection, Roosters, was exhibited in a group exhibition of young artists at the Moderna galerija in 1969 (the ink is painted on the rooster). He had his first solo exhibition in mixed media in 1984 at the M-turist gallery in Ljubljana. Later, his works were occasionally exhibited in smaller companies. He is also a member of the Salvador Club at AAMI Corporation.His works are in private collections in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France...
